Seven Hills Chamber Music 2025 Festival Season:
\n<\/b>Four Programs Rooted in Place, Perspective, and Play<\/b><\/h2>\n

Lynchburg, Virginia \u2014 August 13\u201323, 2025<\/b><\/h3>\n

The <\/span>Seven Hills Chamber Music Festival<\/b> returns for its fifth season with four unique concerts across the Hill City. Each program offers a different lens on the chamber music tradition \u2014 inviting audiences into focused worlds of Classical composition, ranging from bold basslines to nocturnal lyricism.<\/span><\/p>\n

SHCMF 2025:<\/b><\/h3>\n

August 13th \u2014 <\/b>Opening Night!
\n<\/i><\/b>The festival opens with a celebration of some of chamber music\u2019s lowest voices, including double bass and baritone voice. With works by Anton\u00edn Dvo\u0159\u00e1k, Missy Mazzoli, Arvo P\u00e4rt, and more, this program brings the low register into the forefront.

August 17th \u2014 <\/b>The Starry Dynamo
\n<\/i><\/b>Taking its name from our featured piece by William Susman (titled after a line in Allen Ginsberg\u2019s <\/span>Howl<\/span><\/i>), this evening features a selection of vibrant chamber works. J.S. Bach’s <\/span>Brandenburg Concerto No. 3<\/span><\/i> and Saint-Sa\u00ebns\u2019s sparkling <\/span>Septet for Piano, Trumpet & Strings<\/span><\/i> round out a program that shifts between contemplation and radiance.

August 20th \u2014 <\/b>Sounds of the Hill City
\n<\/i><\/b>In a brand-new collaboration with the Lynchburg Museum, this interdisciplinary concert blends performance with storytelling. Held in the museum\u2019s historic main gallery on Court Street, \u201cSounds of the Hill City\u201d will bring local artifacts and hidden histories to life through music. Repertoire includes Dvo\u0159\u00e1k\u2019s <\/span>\u201cAmerican\u201d String Quartet<\/span><\/i>, Reena Esmail\u2019s luminous <\/span>Nadiya<\/span><\/i> for flute and viola, and the delightfully quirky <\/span>Stir Crazy <\/span><\/i>by Carlos Simon.

August 23rd \u2014 <\/b>A Little Night Music
\n<\/i><\/b>The season closes with a fresh look at classical music’s beloved genre of \u201cnight music.\u201d With selections from Mozart (the iconic <\/span>Eine kleine Nachtmusik<\/span><\/i>, of course!), Beethoven, and William Susman, this program blends elegance with restlessness, offering a full arc from twilight to dream.
